Hi! I'm Marc Wheeler

& I love ice cream

I also love my wife, Jessica, our two children, Celia and Ferguson, and the wilds and people of Alaska. I first discovered a passion for ice cream making when Jessica bought an ice cream maker from a garage sale in 2007 and I made my way through the entire Ben & Jerry's cookbook. When Jessica and I had the chance to start a family business in 2013, I knew it had to feature handmade ice cream. From then until we sold our cafe in 2022, I made hundreds of ice cream flavors for customers in Juneau and Sitka, for locals and visitors alike.

I grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and moved to Áak'w Kwaan territory (Juneau, Alaska) in 1995. My heritage is Cajun French, Croatian, and English. In 2023, I had the honor of being adopted into the Kaagwaantaan, Gooch Hít (Wolf House). My Lingít name is Xʼajoosʼá.

I now work as a small business coach throughout Southeast Alaska, for Spruce Root, a Native CDFI with offices in Juneau and Sitka.
